112 works too. On mobile networks it is routed to local emergency services almost everywhere in the world, from a locked handset with no SIM card in it. If nothing else on this page reaches anyone, dial 112.

What to know before you call
- · 112 is the national number and the one to try first, but it has not reached every region equally — the individual service numbers are listed here because in some places they still connect faster.
- · Bali, Lombok and the Gili islands run on boats and scooters, and those are what the calls are about. For anything on the water, 115 reaches search and rescue directly.
- · Give the village or the beach name as well as the town. Addresses outside the cities are often better known by landmark than by street.
Say your location first
Give where you are before you describe what has happened. A call can drop; an address already spoken still gets help moving. Read the town, then the street or the landmark, then the building. If you have coordinates on your phone, read those out — they work regardless of language.
